PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd unveils Putra Heights Community Park as a mark of its commitment to environmental preservation. Completed in January 2024, the park houses 442 trees from 30 different species. Half of these species are considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

“As a force for good, Sime Darby Property continuously emphasises sustainability as a hallmark in everything we do and stand for. We remain committed to safeguarding and conserving the environment starting at our developments,” its property development chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Sohimin Mohd Alayedin said.

“In support of community bonding and placemaking, we strive to meet the needs of our townships’ residents by delivering high-quality developments and public amenities. The establishment of the Putra Heights Community Park solidifies Sime Darby Property’s purpose to be a value multiplier for people, businesses, economies and the planet,” he added.

The park’s opening ceremony was witnessed by Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim and Kota Kemuning assemblyman Preakas Sampunathan.

Zone nine MBSJ councillor Thomas Low Yew Sin, SS17 fire station chief Syed Shahril Anuar Sulaiman, zone seven MBSJ councillor Mohd Tarmizi Lazim,  MBSJ deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali and Subang Jaya district police headquarters head of logistics Nik Zaid Nik Abdul Rahman were also present.

The park is equipped with child-friendly and elder-friendly facilities, such as wheelchair-accessible pedestrian pathways. It is located in the Putra Heights township, which will be launching Sime Darby Property’s first transit-oriented development, Serasi Residences. The development is set for completion in 2026.
