PETALING JAYA: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) has signed premium grocer Village Grocer as an anchor tenant at the commercial zone at M Legasi, strengthening the township’s commercial ecosystem. 

M Legasi is a 500-acre integrated township located in Semenyih with a growing population. The opening of Village Grocer by the end of 2029 is timed with the completion of 817 homes across the township’s early phases, bringing an estimated population of more than 3,200 residents.

Mah Sing property subsidiaries chief executive officer Datuk Yeoh Chee Beng and The Food Purveyor group executive director Ivan Tan signed the tenancy agreement at Mah Sing’s Kuala Lumpur headquarters. 

Village Grocer will occupy a standalone outlet spanning approximately 19,000 sqft, with 80 dedicated car park bays. Mah Sing said its standalone format will enable it to serve not only M Legasi residents but potentially the wider Semenyih and Kesuma catchment, including established neighbourhoods such as Bandar Tasik Kesuma, Bandar Rinching and Eco Majestic.

“We want residents to be able to access their everyday needs, recreation and community amenities conveniently within the township. Village Grocer is therefore not simply another retail addition. As an anchor tenant, it will form an important part of the ecosystem we are progressively building around the M Legasi community,” Yeoh said.

Tan said The Food Purveyor is pleased to deepen the relationship with Mah Sing after the first collaboration at M Amaya, Penang. 

“We share a similar vision of creating communities where convenience and quality are integrated into everyday living and we see strong alignment between Village Grocer’s offering and the lifestyle proposition Mah Sing is building across its development,” he said.

M Legasi enjoys connectivity via major highways, including the Kajang Seremban Highway, South Klang Valley Expressway, North South Expressway and Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway. Its location also provides access to established areas such as Kajang, Seri Kembangan, Bangi and Seremban, as well as surrounding educational institutions, retail destinations and public transportation options.

Connectivity will be further enhanced by the proposed 3km Jalan Tasik Kesuma to Jalan Semenyih flyover. Majlis Perbandaran Kajang has appointed Mah Sing as the lead developer for the project which is expected to commence in 2026. The flyover is intended to ease congestion, improve road safety and provide direct access to M Legasi and Bandar Tasik Kesuma.
