KEDAH: Imperio Group has officially opened The Tenz Emporium, featuring Kedah’s first Cold Storage as its anchor tenant and in partnership with GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. The launch was officiated by Alor Setar mayor Datuk Abdul Gafar Yahya, together with GCH Retail (Malaysia) chief executive officer Cheah Yong Hock and Imperio Group chief executive officer Lee Woei Nen.
“The presence of outlets such as Cold Storage at The Tenz Emporium proves that the people of Alor Setar have aspirations, capabilities and a level of competitiveness comparable to any city in Malaysia. To ensure we remain a prime destination for high-value investments, the city council has introduced the Nadi (New Approval for Development Initiative) which has already fast-tracked development approvals from 99 days down to just 27 days, making our city truly investor-ready,” said Abdul Gafar.
The Tenz Emporium is the first visible activation of The Tenz, a joint-venture integrated ecosystem between Imperio Group and Aman Setia Group. This development transforms the historic Tai Kuan cinema site, demonstrating a successful market-making strategy by converting heritage landmarks into high-value, walkable community hubs.
“Reintroducing Tai Kuan as The Tenz Emporium is about giving a familiar landmark a new purpose. Securing Kedah’s first-ever Cold Storage is definitive proof that we deliver on our promises to attract premium brands and elevate Alor Setar's commercial profile.
