PETALING JAYA: EcoWorld Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) has disposed two parcels of land at Quantum Edge, part of Eco Business Park in Kulai, Johor Bahru, to regional hyperscale data centre specialist KNBDC Malaysia Five Sdn Bhd (KNBDC), for RM280.8mil.
EcoWorld said that a conditional sale and purchase agreement has been entered between its wholly owned subsidiary Eco Business Park 6 Sdn Bhd and KNBDC for the parcels with a combined acreage of 49.6 acres.
“We are delighted to welcome KNBDC to Quantum Edge, which was launched in June 2024, specifically designed to cater to the needs of market-leading data centres and other high-tech customers. KNBDC is buying the last two parcels of industrial land at Quantum Edge and they will be joining Microsoft and Princeton Digital Group here, making this one of the largest digital and high-tech hubs by a private developer in Malaysia,” said EcoWorld president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah.
EcoWorld said the disposal adds to the group’s strong start in 2026, where it achieved 52% of the year’s sales target in its first four months of the financial year. With industrial sales contributing 36% to the cumulative sales, the group expects total industrial sales for the year to further increase, demonstrating the continued resilience of this market segment.
