PETALING JAYA: The Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEP) has launched the third edition of Malaysian Property Management Standards (MPMS) alongside a Professional Convocation recognising practitioners across the valuation, estate agency and property management professions.
Officiated by BOVAEP president Datuk Abdul Razak Yusak, the latest edition builds on the foundation established by the previous edition, with updates aimed at reflecting the evolving needs of Malaysia’s property management sector.
Key developments from the 2nd Edition to the 3rd Edition include
- New Standards – Strata Management and Sustainable Property Management
- Code of Conduct and Ethics for the Property Manager
- Property Management Services: Limiting Conditions and Disclaimers
- Formal recognition of the Assistant to the Property Manager (A-PM)
- Expansion of clients to include REITs and Residents’ Associations
- Combination of Building Management and Maintenance Management
Alongside the launch, the Professional Convocation Ceremony, which is held annually, provides a tangible demonstration of BOVAEP’s role in developing and regulating Malaysia’s property profession.
BOVAEP presented 100 Certificates of Authority to Practise to Valuers, Estate Agents and Property Managers for the 2025/2026 period, alongside the presentation of the 2025 Diploma in Estate Agency. Outstanding students from UiTM, UTM, Universiti Malaya and UTHM were also recognised for their academic achievements.
Also present were BOVAEP registrar Pamela Marie Jerome Anthony and property managers committee chairman Ishak bin Ismail.
