PETALING JAYA: The second StarProperty.my Real Estate Awards (SREA) was held in grand style to honour deserving negotiators and agencies in the real estate industry.
This year, the awards saw a total of 14 categories, including new categories namely Top Voted Awards, The Thriving Awards, Best Practice Awards, WOW Awards, Honourable Awards and Outstanding Video Awards.
Organised by StarProperty Sdn Bhd, SREA 2018 aimed to showcase the region’s finest real estate industry talents, boosting awareness and highlighting top quality agencies, agents and services.
The prestigious All-Star Agency Awards recognising exemplary real estate firms regardless of company size, transaction volume or number of negotiators was won by IQI Realty Sdn Bhd with five stars, and Chester Properties Sdn Bhd and Rina Properties Asia Sdn Bhd with three stars each.
All-Star Negotiator Awards was won by Terence Tan Chuan Soon with four stars, and Jonathan Lai and Freeman Woo with three stars each for showing exemplary leadership qualities reflecting positive agency practices that meet industry standards.
The inaugural Top Voted Awards for agencies was won by Unity Realty Sdn Bhd, IOI Realty Sdn Bhd and Total Realty Sdn Bhd.
The Top Voted Awards for negotiators was clinched by Terence Tan Chuan Soon, Nicki Yong Fei Pin and Zen Lim Chi Zen.
Star Media Group Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai said the awards programme offered an unrivalled showcase of the region’s real estate industry.
“The StarProperty.my Real Estate Awards shines a spotlight on the high calibre work within Malaysia’s real estate industry.
“It highlights top quality agencies, agents and services,” he added.
The prestigious awards were presented last night by Wong, Star Media Group Bhd group chief revenue officer Lydia Wang, StarProperty Sdn Bhd assistant general manager Ernest Bernard Towle and Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers president Nordin Daharom.
Brunsfield International Group general manager Chow Yoke Mei, who was one of the judges of the awards ceremony, said: “For real estate agents to be better and agencies to go to the next level, they need to focus on data analytics.
“They should also be very innovative on how to reach a broader market by leveraging technology.”
The other judges of SREA 2018 were Trinity Group managing partner, founder and managing director Datuk Neoh Soo Keat, Elizabeth Siew & Co managing partner Elizabeth Siew, OCBC Bank (M) Bhd head of secured lending Thoo Mee Ling, Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association most recent past president Datuk Seri Michael Yam and Towle.
