CONSTRUCTION of affordable housing are among the focus of a five-year strategic plan which the Penang Development Corporation (PDC) has drawn up for 2016-2020.
Chief Minister and PDC chairman Lim Guan Eng said the building of such homes would increase house ownership among the people.
He said there would also be redevelopment of certain commercial, industrial and housing areas as well as infrastructure development for tourism.
“One main component of the plan is emphasis on human resources and their talent,” he said during PDC’s Christmas and New Year gathering at its premises in Persiaran Mahsuri, Bayan Baru.
More than 100 people, mostly PDC employees, turned up for the recent event.
Among those present were Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy, state executive councillors Lim Hock Seng, Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim and Dr Afif Bahardin, PDC general manager Datuk Rosli Jaafar and former PDC general manager Datuk Seri Chet Singh.
