PETALING JAYA: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) has partnered with Synergy ESCO (Synergy), a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s Unity Group, to install ultra-high energy efficient lighting across five of its completed developments in the central region. Underscoring Mah Sing’s commitment to sustainability, the initiative is expected to save over 38.1 million kWh of electricity over a 10-year period.
The strategic partnership agreement was signed between Mah Sing chief experience officer Bernard Yong and Synergy executive director Eva Yim, and witnessed by Mah Sing strategic communication, sustainability and corporate responsibility head Lyanna Tew and Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) operations development division senior assistant director Nor Hanizan Sahib.
“Our partnership with Synergy reflects this ongoing commitment by integrating sustainability into the spaces our residents use daily. Through smarter energy solutions, we are helping to reduce maintenance costs while promoting a greener lifestyle. It’s these thoughtful, future-focused choices that allow us to elevate both comfort and quality of life for our communities,” Yong said.
“Collaborating with Mah Sing allows us to deliver measurable outcomes that support Malaysia’s net-zero 2050 ambitions. The initiative is more than just reducing emissions; it is about nurturing a community that embraces sustainability in their everyday lives. We are also working with Mah Sing on a dedicated ultra-high energy efficient lighting proposal for their headquarters, which marks another exciting step in our ongoing partnership,” Yim said.
Mah Sing said to date it had installed a total of 37,963 ultra-high energy efficient light fixtures in the common areas at M Centura in Sentul, M Vertica in Cheras, Savanna, Cerrado and Sensory Residence in Southville City, Bangi. These high-performance LED lights are built to last up to 180,000 hours, with 12 hours of daily operation and use only about 4.5 watts of electricity or roughly 75% of the energy used by LED lighting in the market. This lowers the electricity bills and incur less maintenance over time, bringing long-term cost savings and added value for residents and property managers.
