PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) has won a total of nine awards at the StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards (SPDA) 2025, including securing the top spot for the All-Stars Award for the third year in a row and bagging the Readers’ Choice Award for Newsmaker of the Year (for 2024), a recognition of its continued impact and visibility within the real estate landscape.
Organised by StarProperty, a wholly owned subsidiary of Star Media Group (SMG), the SPDA is an annual award to recognise developers who have significantly contributed to the growth of Malaysia's real estate industry. From iconic buildings to sustainable developments and integrated townships, these awards also recognise projects that shape society for the better. The SPDA 2025 was graced by the Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, who presented the awards accompanied by SMG group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt, chairman Tan Sri Wong Foon Meng and other SMG senior management officers.
SDP received The Starter Home Award (Excellence) for Serasi Residences, Putra Heights, The Placemaker Award (Excellence) for Elmina Lakeside Mall and Urban Park, The Business Estate Award (Commercial – Excellence) for The Corak, Serenia City and The Business Estate Award (Industrial – Excellence) for Masterpiece Collection – i3, Bandar Bukit Raja.
As the year marked the 10th anniversary of the SPDA, a special 10th anniversary revisit also recognised the City of Elmina, Bandar Bukit Raja and Gateway 16 as notable past winners that have maintained their excellence post-development. The projects have previously won The Neighbourhood Award – Best Comprehensive Township (Above 200 Acres) and The Business Estate Award – Best Industrial Park Development and The Investor’s Choice Award – Highest ROI Development respectively.
“We are honoured to be recognised with these prestigious awards, which reflect the outcome of disciplined execution, strong partnerships and the continued support of our customers and stakeholders,” said SDP group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmir Merican.
“We would like to thank StarProperty and the esteemed panel of judges for these recognitions and to our loyal customers for their trust. We remain committed to delivering best-in-class developments that reflect our purpose to be a value multiplier for people, businesses, economies and the planet,” he added.
