SHAH ALAM: SP Setia Bhd (Setia) has renewed the Green Building Index (GBI) Platinum certification for its corporate headquarters (Setia HQ) under the Non-Residential New Construction category, scoring 94 out of 100 points.
Among more than 800 buildings certified under Malaysia's Green Building Index, only 32 buildings or about 4%, have achieved the highest Platinum rating, placing Setia HQ among the country's top-performing green buildings.
"The renewal of Setia HQ's GBI Platinum certification is a meaningful validation of the building's sustained environmental performance and the standards we continue to uphold in managing our corporate headquarters. Being among only 32 GBI Platinum-certified buildings in Malaysia reinforces the importance of designing and operating buildings with energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, water management and long-term sustainability in mind. For Setia, this recognition reflects our broader commitment to embedding practical and measurable sustainability considerations across the spaces we build, manage and occupy," said Setia president and chief executive officer Datuk Zaini Yusoff.
"Sustaining Platinum performance over an extended period requires ongoing commitment, investment and continuous improvement. SP Setia's ability to maintain and enhance sustainability standards over time reflects a long-term approach to environmental stewardship and responsible building management," said Green Building Index chief executive officer Sarly Adre Sarkum.
Setia HQ excelled in energy efficiency while accommodating increased occupancy, featuring advanced ventilation and sustainability practices like rainwater harvesting and waste management, alongside facilities for green vehicles.
