TANJONG KARANG: The proposal for housing developers to grant loans to homeowners will be explained to Cabinet on Wednesday.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar (pic) said the matter would be brought up at the Cabinet meeting and would focus on whether developers could provide loans to potential property buyers facing problems obtaining bank loans.
He said the loans were also meant to help those who faced difficulties making upfront payments.
Noh said the proposal was not something new as there were already several developers who had provided this kind of facility in the past.
“It is up to the Cabinet to decide on the matter,” he said at a Hari Raya Haji event at Permatang assemblyman Datuk Sulaiman Abdul Razak’s service centre on Tuesday.
