PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPKM) has announced the winners of the association’s Awards 2025-2026, an industry initiative to raise the bar and inspire new standards across Malaysia’s shopping mall industry.

The event was attended by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and his deputy Chiew Choon Man. Tiong also presented the Legacy Awards, the highest recognition bestowed upon the mall industry’s pioneers and visionaries. Also present was PPKM president Phang Sau Lian.

PPKM Board of Advisors, recipients of the Legacy Awards were celebrated for transforming malls into vibrant community hubs, cultural landmarks, tourist destinations and engines of economic growth. They are:

  • PPKM advisor and RCMC Sdn Bhd consultant director Richard Chan
  • PPKM advisor and former MKH Bhd group managing director Tan Sri Eddy Chen
  • PPKM advisor and 1 Utama City Group (1 Utama Shopping Centre) executive chairman Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok
  • PPKM advisor and former Sunway Malls managing director Datuk Ngeow Voon Yean
  • PPKM advisor and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd retail chief executive officer Datuk Joyce Yap
  • PPKM advisor and Sunway Malls group managing director HC Chan

Another highlight was the Best Experiential Marketing Awards for marketing campaigns held from July 2025 to July 2026 where Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Quayside Mall and Sungei Wang Plaza were among the winners.

With 74 submissions from 40 shopping malls, the entries for Best Experiential Marketing Awards spanned the full spectrum of shopping mall creativity, from festive celebrations and themed showcases to sales promotions, PR, advertising, digital media and community engagement initiatives, proving once again that Malaysia’s malls are redefining the art of connection.

As ESG principles gained momentum, PPK Malaysia’s Awards for Top Sustainability Practices drew 27 submissions from malls nationwide, with entries ranging from the largest rooftop solar PV system, expanded EV charging stations, recycling hubs, waste and water recovery, rainwater harvesting and more. Among the winners were Sunway Big Box Retail Park, Sunway Velocity and Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall.

Through this platform, PPKM shines a spotlight on impactful initiatives that advance environmental stewardship, social responsibility and ethical governance.
