PETALING JAYA: JLand Group (JLG), the real estate and infrastructure platform of Johor Corporation (JCorp), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DHL Supply Chain Malaysia (DHL) to collaborate on logistics and supply chain development within Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC), JLG's 7,290-acre industrial and innovation ecosystem in Johor.

Under the MoU, JLG and DHL will jointly explore the feasibility of a build-to-lease logistics facility model within IBTEC. The collaboration will focus on market demand assessment, engagement with potential tenants and customers as well as evaluation of future logistics development opportunities across the IBTEC platform.

DHL will contribute market intelligence, customer access, demand assessment and technical input on warehouse specifications and logistics solutions while JLG will translate these insights into site strategies, engagement platforms and built-to-suit opportunities.

“IBTEC was designed as an operating ecosystem where infrastructure, innovation, logistics, talent and community are planned together. The Sedenak Tech Park (STeP) has given IBTEC strong momentum by demonstrating what is possible when infrastructure readiness, investor confidence and strategic partnerships come together. The next step is to deepen that momentum through Exclaim Discovery City (a signature mixed-use phase) and strengthen how the ecosystem works as a whole,” said JLG group managing director Datuk Akmal Ahmad.

"Johor is rapidly emerging as a strategically important technology and data centre hub in Asia. Through this collaboration with JLG, we are exploring how logistics infrastructure can evolve alongside the needs of hyperscalers, technology companies and data centre operators. By engaging early in the development of IBTEC, DHL is well positioned to support future customer growth while strengthening our data centre logistics capabilities in one of Malaysia's most important growth markets," said DHL Supply Chain Malaysia managing director Mario Lorenz.

Also present were JLG chief marketing and customer officer John Ng Yan Chuan and DHL Supply Chain Malaysia chief financial officer Loke Wai Ting.
