PETALING JAYA: Gamuda Luge Gardens, a new leisure and entertainment hub at Gamuda Gardens, was officially launched in a grand opening ceremony by the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. Designed for family fun, Gamuda Luge Gardens feature the key attractions of Skyline Luge, FunPark with the latest addition of the ferris wheel Eye of Gardens and Vroomerang ride, along with the Big Bucket Splash.
Amirudin Shari said the opening has a strategic significance to Selangor’s tourism sector, adding: “With these new attractions, it supports the state to achieving our target of seven million tourist arrivals for Visit Selangor Year 2025. This development not only enhances the state's unique tourism offerings but also aligns with our broader strategy to attract leading international brands and elevate the overall visitor experience in Selangor."
Gamuda Bhd chairman Tan Sri Haji Ambrin Buang said Gamuda Luge Gardens has quickly become a landmark destination in northern Klang Valley, attracting over 420,000 visitors including overseas visitors since its soft launch in December 2023.
“As Gamuda Gardens continues to mature, with a current population of over 8,000 residents, we look forward to welcoming new additions and strategic partnerships like Skyline Luge to add value to our residents. Besides leisure and entertainment, we also look forward to having more F&B operators for our commercial developments, clinics and pharmacies, schools and lifestyle amenities that will help enrich the life of our community,” he said.
The grand opening also celebrated FunPark, now home to Eye of Garden, the tallest and largest ferris wheel in a theme park as recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records. Fun Park now offers a complete experience with attractions like Jellycup Twist, Fruity Frenzy, Jumpshot, Carousel, and the 10,000-square-foot Big Bucket Splash water play area.
Meanwhile, the event also announces the upcoming launch of Hyfly, the first-in-Malaysia dualling zipline, set to debut by the end of 2024, further enhancing the array of attractions at Gamuda Luge Gardens.
“With our upcoming zipline project, HyFly, (we) aim to enhance the overall experience and ensure that every visit to our adventure park is truly unforgettable,” said Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur general manager Gavin Barnes.
Also in the pipeline is the mixed-use development plot located adjacent to Skyline Luge and FunPark. To be unveiled in phases, The Atrium is planned as a fully pedestrianised space with a diverse tenant mix comprising F&B, retail, entertainment, and more, to cater to the thriving community at Gamuda Gardens and its surrounding vicinity. It will be designed to harmonise with the bustling foot traffic from FunPark and Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, featuring an open-space layout conducive to relaxation and exploration. Adding to the appeal, The Atrium will house an extension of the fun components, including an indoor theme park and a variety of F&B outlets.
The grand opening also introduced the GL Play Squad, consisting of mascots with characters such as Zoomi the Orangutan, Omba’ King the Dugong, Swaggy B the Sun Bear, and Max the Otter.
Also present were Gamuda Land chief executive officer Chu Wai Lune, executive director Datuk Abdul Sahak, Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur operations manager Joshua Morris as well as local government and tourism exco Datuk Ng Suee Lim.
