KUCHING: The long-awaited Vivacity Megamall Kuching opened on Saturday in a lively and grand ceremony visited by a large crowd.

Invited guests and visitors witnessed a heart-thumping drum performance and lion dance in the morning before the inaugural launching of the mall by Coramax Mall Sdn Bhd directors Sim Yaw Hang and Sim Yaw Yen.

The mall was filled with excitement as the lions visited every outlet. Performances by the hitz.fm crew with Paperplane Pursuit and several other talented singers also livened things up at the mall, which was getting ready to celebrate Christmas with colourful decorations.

Vivacity Megamall is designed by one of Malaysia’s yop architecture firms, Archicentre, which is also the brain behind Setia City Mall in Shah Alam.

“Vivacity”, which means a lively or animated city, aims to create the ultimate shopping experience for sophisticated and cultured individuals by offering a unique blend of funky fashion styles topped with youth-centric entertainment.

The mall is divided into three atriums, each offering diverse products like fashion apparels, beauty and health, accessories, gadgets, sports gear, food and beverages as well as entertainment.

This new megamall is set to be the largest premier shopping mall in Sarawak, featuring over 300 retail outlets across five floors.

It also includes a departmental store, supermarket, Cineplex and 12 anchor large retail branches.

The beautifully drawn murals at the food court add spice to dining.

Parkson is among the anchor stores in the mall. It carries over 300 brands of which 30 are new and exclusive brands in Kuching.
