PETALING JAYA: Rehda Institute has launched the second edition of the Property Development Handbook, an end-to-end guide to navigating every stage of the property development process. Officiated by the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s housing and urban wellbeing deputy secretary-general Zulkeflee Sulaiman, the handbook is updated to reflect the latest changes in legislation, planning requirements and standards across the terrain of sustainability and digitalisation.

Speaking at the launch, Rehda Institute chairman Datuk Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip said the handbook brings together the expertise of the Malaysian property development ecosystem into a practical resource for both current and future industry practitioners.

"The Property Development Handbook captures the collective knowledge and practical experience of industry practitioners, Government agencies, professional bodies and academics. We hope it will serve as a trusted reference for industry professionals while also supporting the next generation of property practitioners in understanding the complexities of property development in Malaysia," he said.

Published for property developers, professionals in the development industry, government officers and academics, the handbook offers guidance that covers the entire development lifecycle from land acquisition and feasibility studies to construction and property management.

Sime Darby Property Bhd (SDP) is the patron of the latest handbook which has been updated from its first edition, published in 2015.

Also present were Rehda outgoing president Datuk Ho Hon Sang, SDP group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmir Merican as well as chief marketing and sales officer Datuk Lai Shu Wei, Rehda Institute trustees Datuk Seri Michael Yam Kong Choy and Datuk Mustaza Mohamad and the handbook editor Ngian Siew Siong.

The handbook is available for purchase through Rehda Institute.
