SINGAPORE: Following a successful Asian debut last year, the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia exhibition returns for a second edition in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 7 to 9 September.

From left: BCA chief operating officer Dr John Keung, BCA chairman Lee Fook Sun, Minister Lawrence Wong; Reed Exhibitions (SEA and Australia) president Debbie Evans, SGBC president Chia Ngiang Hong.
Visitors can attend seminars on how to harness data to increase efficiency in buildings, creating ‘win-win-win’ green-financing solar models and how circadian lighting is crucial to the maintenance of an individual’s health and well-being.
The exhibitors include BELIMO Actuators Limited, Daikin Airconditioning (Singapore) Pte Ltd, ebm-papst SEA Pte Ltd, Reflex Winkelmann GmbH, and SMARDT Chillers Pte Ltd, and they will be joined by new exhibitors such as Ariston Thermo Pte Ltd, George Fischer Pte Ltd and JVL Engineering Pte Ltd.
The exhibition focus on increasing efficiency and reducing wastage, and energy use in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) sector, plumbing technology, sanitary accessories and renewable energy equipment.
The global HVAC equipment market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.6% from 2015 to 2022, exceeding US$125 billion by 2022. One of the key drivers for this growth is the increase in construction activities.
In Asia Pacific alone, construction activities accounted for 51% of the market share last year, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7% through 2021.
HVAC systems consume between 40% to 50% of a building’s total energy so there is an immediate need to increase awareness of how internal systems contribute significantly to a building’s efficiency.
With rapid developments in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, new constructions have heightened the demand for energy efficient HVAC-R systems to improve building efficiency.
Competitive edge from learn, network and strike deals in the marketplace
Spearheading conversations around internal building systems, MCE Asia 2016 provides a platform where exhibitors aim to raise the bar on increasing efficiency of internal building conditions.
Furthermore, advances in monitoring systems, intelligent technologies and the integration of the Internet of things (IoT) will serve to spur the growth of the HVAC-R market.
“The immediate threats of climate change brings about an urgency to create sustainable living and working environments, which requires efficient HVAC-R systems and a collective participation from our communities. We want to continue to spark conversations and ride on this momentum for a greater exchange of ideas and information for our industry,” says Reed Exhibition project director and business development director Louise Chua.
An energy-efficient event strategy that can take the heat

Visitors at BEX Asia can see a strategic three-way rollout of the exhibition and seminar that focuses on green architectures, smart technologies and energy efficient solutions.
Continuing the tradition of previous exhibitions, BEX Asia 2016 houses dedicated market pavilions from mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore, consolidating in-country exhibitors for an overview of game-changing solutions of local relevance to the regional audience.
“We aim to lead the charge for sustainable coating solutions for greener architectures through our innovative products. Our eco-friendly products can improve the quality of life, and we’re very excited to be at BEX Asia 2016 to share our expertise and network with the community,” said Nippon Paint senior manager of specifier relation Kel Low.
Echoing similar sentiments is Anacle Systems chief operating officer Alex Lau.
“BEX Asia serves as a launch pad for transformation in areas of energy efficiency and smart technology. Our generation is technologically-savvy and it is important to have energy saving abilities like smart meters and energy tracking systems at our fingertips. BEX Asia is an ideal place for us to be part of dialogues to drive breakthroughs in next-gen energy management,” said Lau.
Thought provoking insights exchange
According to the Global Green Building Market Outlook 2020 published by Research and Markets, the worldwide green building market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of about 13% from 2015 to 2020.
This growth can partly be attributed to rising awareness of the implications of climate change, and the understanding that green buildings can result in lower level of greenhouse emissions.
To continue to advance such knowledge, Industry innovators gather at the ‘Green View’ to share related insights from which our man-made environment is founded on.
The topics ranges from an education of materials necessary for green architectures by San Marco Paints and Graphenstone, to visionary tales of a smart community by Lux Research and getting to the heart of the energy efficiency boom by AECOM.
“Beyond sustainability and the recognised need to reduce carbon footprint, there is a greater call to strengthen competitiveness and collaboration between private and public stakeholders for collective action. We want to walk the talk and ensure that BEX Asia continues to be relevant. The solid foundation we’ve built will help us continue conversations for a better tomorrow for future generations,” said Chua.
An exhibition not to be missed
The diverse mix of international and regional exhibitors showcase various advanced technologies and solutions around four main themes: Cooling, Water, Renewable Energy and Heating.
Furthermore, several industry experts share their insights and findings on a range of topics pertinent to the advancement of industry practices and new technologies at Mostra Xchange.
“Having exhibited in both MCE Italy and MCE Asia, we have experienced first-hand benefits that such a platform brings to the community,” says ebm-papst GmbH & Co.KG (Germany) head of market management VAC Uwe Sigloch.
“Mostra Xchange further facilitates a dynamic setting for conversations between industry experts and business owners. Only through such open dialogues we are able to maintain healthy working relationships within the entire supply chain network, continue the pursuit of energy efficient systems and lobby for standardization of green requirements across industries,” he adds.
Supported by prominent organisations in the industry, BEX Asia 2016 is one of the anchor events of the Singapore Green Building Week (SGBW).
Through BEX and MCE Asia 2016, more than 450 exhibiting companies present to a strong congregation of 12,000 trade visitors. More than 300 business meetings, exceeding US$125 million in business transactions, are expected to take place between industry decision-makers, consultants, manufacturers and distributors.
