SHAH ALAM: Nippon Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has partnered with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) to elevate national hotel refurbishment standards. This collaboration is part of Nippon Paint's Total Coating and Construction Solutions (TCCS) strategy, aiming to equip hospitality stakeholders with modern refurbishment solutions as Malaysia anticipates 31.4 million tourist arrivals and significant tourism receipts under Visit Malaysia 2026.

The initiative included the Elevating Hotel Maintenance: Comprehensive Solutions for Refurbishment workshop, designed to upskill hoteliers and facility managers with practical strategies. Nippon Paint is committed to enhancing the aesthetics, functionality and safety of hospitality environments while supporting sustainable tourism growth.

“Hotels are more than just buildings. They are where people celebrate milestones and find rest. This collaboration reflects our vision to empower hotel professionals with practical, quality refurbishment solutions that enhance guest experiences,” said MAH chief executive officer Isaac Mohan Raj.

“We’re proud to support the hospitality industry with refurbishment solutions that enhance both the look and long-term performance of hotel spaces. Our goal is to ensure every guest enters a clean, well-maintained and welcoming environment,” added Nippon Paint general manager Tay Sze Tuck.

During the workshop, Nippon Paint emphasised the importance of addressing common maintenance challenges early to simplify cost-effective, long-term upkeep. The company’s tailored refurbishment solutions, from repainting to re-waterproofing, ensure safety and customer satisfaction through rigorous quality assurance.

Enhancing technical knowledge among maintenance teams will promote early detection of potential hazards, protecting infrastructure and ensuring a seamless guest experience.

“In hospitality, first impressions matter. Aesthetics and operational quality go hand in hand. Early coordination between developers, designers and hotel operators is crucial to prevent issues like hidden water seepage,” shared a Movenpick Hotel participant.

This partnership marks a significant step toward future-proofing Malaysia's hospitality industry.
