PETALING JAYA: With real estate agencies contributing significantly to Malaysia’s RM232.3bil property market in 2024, the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) honoured 74 professionals in Malaysia’s real estate market at the 17th National Real Estate Awards (NREA) held at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
This year’s event received a record-breaking 108 submissions across 25 streamlined categories and the judging process was conducted by a distinguished panel of nine judges led by chief judge Datuk Seri Michael Yam.
Representing Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said: “The real estate industry remains a cornerstone of our nation’s economic development and the achievements we celebrate tonight reflect the professionalism and dedication that drive this vital sector forward.”
Under the 2025 theme of We Celebrate the Juara, a key highlight of the night was the special recognition Awards - the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Real Estate Agent of the Year title. Additionally, 24 practitioners were inducted into the MIEA Million Dollar Award (MMDA), which MIEA notes as record-breaking.
“This remarkable response speaks volumes about our industry's competitive spirit and its collective relentless pursuit of excellence. It was a very competitive contest and the standard of performance of the participants this year has tremendously outperformed previous years,” said NREA 2025 organising chairman Ahmad Zamzuri Kamarudin.
“This year, NREA proudly unveiled the Hall of Fame’s photo wall showcasing the very first edition of individual winners from 2009 to 2025. To date, a remarkable 547 award recipients have been honoured. This milestone not only celebrates individual achievement, but also strengthens the property industry, elevates the standards of the profession nationwide and inspires others to do well in the real estate industry,” he added.
“Tonight, we celebrate in light of another remarkable year for Malaysia's property market. The Juaras we celebrate tonight exemplify the standards we aspire to achieve across our entire sector," he said. "As MIEA members, you are not just practitioners but ambassadors of our profession. Your commitment to high standards, ethical conduct and continuous learning directly contributes to elevating the real estate field's standing in society,” said MIEA president Kelvin Yip Kwong Wai.
