PETALING JAYA: iBilik, the popular room rental and short-term stay portal, announced the availability of its mobile app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The app has a variety of handy features including a predictive smart search function that prognosticates location, property name and provides recommendations as you type.

Additionally, users are able to search nearby amenities such as public transportation, schools, banks and hospitals.

Via Map Search, those who have forgotten the name of a particular property can drop a pin on the map to start searching listings in the area.

Advertisers, on the other hand, can now enjoy the added convenience of posting listings on-the-go.

The launch of iBilik’s mobile app coincides with a record number of listings for the portal in the year 2020.

Back in July, StarProperty reported increased activity in the rental market as iBilik listings in June exceeded the combined total of listings from January to May 2020.

The chart above shows the number of listings on iBilik from January to Oct 2020.

The number of listings has now far exceeded figures in June and currently stand at 14,100 listings for the month of October.

“Increased activity in the rental market is expected during a challenging economic climate as evident in the record number of listings.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve the iBilik platform for our users and the mobile app is the culmination of those efforts,” said StarProperty group general manager Jason Yap.

Yap added that while iBilik serves room rentals and short-term stays, it’s sister site StarProperty.my caters to those looking to buy, sell or rent whole units.

A revamped website and mobile app for StarProperty were launched in the third quarter of last year.
