In April 2026, Setia received the AI (Real Estate) award at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2026 for deploying artificial intelligence (AI) across selected property development processes under the Bengkel Inovasi GLC programme. Automated lead qualification, design document analysis and site inspection support improve sales efficiency and construction quality.

AI sales agents enable faster responses, personalised engagement and consistent follow-ups while drone inspections and AI enabled visual checks expand coverage, identify issues earlier and strengthen quality assurance and traceability. 

In October 2026, Setia and Gentari, through Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore strategic collaboration in clean energy and green mobility solutions. 

Under the MoU, Setia and Gentari will explore the potential deployment of EV charging facilities at selected Setia developments and promote EV adoption. 

Growth: Creating places to live, work and prosper 

In June 2026, Setia broke ground on the 509-acre Setia Fontaines Industrial Park in Bertam, Kepala Batas. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow officially graced the ceremony, underscoring the project’s national economic significance. 

Located within the 1,691-acre freehold Setia Fontaines township, the development is positioned as the first green industrial park in Malaysia’s northern region. It is designed for advanced manufacturing, technology related industries and digital infrastructure, serving occupiers ranging from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to multinational corporations (MNCs). 

The groundbreaking also included the exchange of a memorandum of collaboration between Setia and the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) to explore the use of the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS). 

Through CRESS, businesses at the park could access renewable electricity supplied by regional renewable energy developers through the national grid, providing a practical pathway to support carbon reduction commitments. With access to the North South Expressway, Setia Fontaines Industrial Park is connected to Penang Island, Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Jaya and Kulim. 

The group remains focused on translating its sales pipeline, completed inventory and strategic launches into recognised earnings while sustaining confidence in its sales targets for the financial year 2026 (FY2026) through its established township base and emerging growth platforms.

At the same time, Setia continues to progress its real estate investment trust (REIT) plans with tangible milestones, supporting the longer-term objective of unlocking recurring income from investment assets.
