AN entire village near Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, India, emptied their homes and temporarily stayed in a nearby forest to ward off evil spirits, reported Makkal Osai.

It is common practice for the villagers to leave their homes and stay in surrounding jungles and farms to conduct special prayers to appease the gods and ask for better crops or rainfall.

When villagers fell sick and others died in freak accidents recently, villagers blamed it on evil spirits.

Village elders decided that the villagers should once again leave their homes and conduct rituals in a nearby forest.
