KUALA LUMPUR: Chin Hin Group Property Bhd (CHGP) and UCSI Group are collaborating to create an integrated education hub within CHGP's 19.3-acre waterfront masterplan in the Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone.

This partnership will feature a purpose-built campus comprising UCSI International School and Sekolah Sri UCSI, accommodating up to 3,000 students and 300 boarders. This marks UCSI's first school in Melaka, aiming to drive population growth and economic activity in the area.

The overall development will include serviced residences, retail and lifestyle offerings, educational facilities and future healthcare components, fostering a self-sustaining ecosystem for families, professionals and visitors.

Under the agreement, CHGP's wholly-owned subsidiary Chin Hin PMC Sdn Bhd and UCSI will form a joint venture with CHGP holding a 30% stake. The venture will develop the designated school campus, enhancing demand for the wider masterplan.

“This partnership strengthens our vision of creating a future-ready waterfront township anchored by quality education. Together with UCSI, we are establishing a key catalyst for community growth, talent attraction and long-term value creation across the broader development. The integration of education, residential, lifestyle and future healthcare components creates a differentiated ecosystem that enhances the precinct's attractiveness while supporting CHGP's long-term growth strategy,” said CHGP property development division group chief executive officer Chang Tze Yoong.

“We are pleased to establish UCSI's first school presence in Melaka through this strategic collaboration with CHGP. The development presents a unique opportunity to bring together quality education, modern infrastructure and a thriving community environment within a single integrated destination,” said UCSI Group founder and executive chairman Datuk Peter Ng.

“Through the combination of UCSI International School and Sekolah Sri UCSI, families will have access to internationally recognised and nationally grounded education pathways within a future-focused learning environment. We believe this campus will play an important role in nurturing the next generation of leaders while contributing meaningfully to Melaka's educational and socio-economic development,” continued Ng.
