Family-friendly facilities at the Gardens Wellness

The movement control order (MCO) ordered by the government of Malaysia to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus has forced many to look into what truly matters in a home. Having to spend longer hours at home, people are naturally thinking about ways to make their home more comfortable.

While the top priority for many is to have bigger space at home to live, work, cook, dine, work out or to be used as a hobby space, the environment outside the home place is equally important as an extension from our personal space into our immediate public areas outside our home.

What makes a good town to live in?

A good town is more than just brick and mortar – it is also about the gathering places for the community, the parks and lakes that open up to each neighbourhood, streets that promote walkability and bikeability, beautiful streetscapes, well thought-out infrastructure and good architecture. The integration of nature and community spaces within a township masterplan for people to come together and interact with each other are the fundamentals of a good town.

Embracing this development principle is Gamuda Land, a town-maker with a proven track record of developing sustainable townships centred on community wellbeing. Gamuda Land seized the opportunity to craft a vibrant community place with a hometown vibe across 810 acres of green undulating terrain, waterfalls and lakes. A place where people not only foster a bond with one another but also with nature.

“At Gamuda Land, our approach to master-planning is different. We mindfully think through the design of the township, where the parks terrace through the town, how the streets are laid out to provide good accessibility and connectivity for the community, how the community will interact at these places, and how the 50-acre central park with its two waterfalls and five cascading lakes anchor the entire township down to the selection of native flora species so that nature, as well as people, can thrive here,” said Gamuda Gardens general manager Chu Wai Lune.

“At Gamuda Land, our approach to master-planning is different,” said Chu.

Conveniences at your doorstep

Beyond just a home to live in, people want to be a part of something bigger, a place where they can be part of a healthy community and enjoy being close to nature.

“We definitely see an increased appreciation for nature post-MCO. We have people visiting Gamuda Gardens for the first time and immediately fell in love with the abundance of greenery we have created here. You won’t have to travel far to be with nature. At Gamuda Gardens, it is at your doorstep. You can easily walk to our 50-acre pet-friendly central park or enjoy the view from our Waterfront Village,” Chu explained, adding that residents at Gamuda Gardens enjoy the scenic view of the surrounding nature from their home as well.

Located within the central park is the Adventure Playland that attracts the community out of their homes. Featuring more than just ubiquitous slides and swings, this playground is integrated with a zipline and a challenging rope-climbing structure that will appeal to families and children.

Directly accessible from the central park and situated by the lakeside, the sprawling Waterfront Village further allows residents to meet their daily needs without having to travel far. With tenants ranging from food outlets, convenience stores and a grocer, Freshii Neighbourhood Market which opens daily from 10am to 8pm, residents do not have to travel out of the township for their daily necessities.

Within the Waterfront Village square is the Gardens Wellness, equipped with facilities such as eight badminton courts, Olympic-length swimming pool, dance studio and more to cater to the community’s health and wellness needs. All the components are designed to complement each other, thus making it a one-stop centre for the residents to meet their day-to-day social activity requirements within the neighbourhood.

A splashing fun place

Children can look forward to playing in the neighbourhood water park, the Big Bucket Splash, an approximately 12,700 sq ft Klang Valley’s wildest waterplay set to open in October 2020.

With towering slides, shallow pools, water guns, rainforest animal characters and rain buckets, just to name a few of the exciting features, the Big Bucket Splash is a place for children and adults to spend enjoyable hours. The water park will be opened on weekends with two separate sessions, from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm to reduce the number of people per session and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set for RMCO. The water park is also an ideal venue for fun celebratory events such as birthday parties.

“When we’re building our towns, we don’t just look at the interior of the home. We know people want to be outdoors. They want to do this with ease without having to get from one place to another. They love the idea of being able to get up in the morning, go for a walk, grab a cup of coffee, meet their neighbours, or just find those play places to bring their children to. And at the same time, they want to be able to retreat into their home when they want to. So it’s this balance that we’re always trying to find when we’re creating a town,” Chu explained.

The home place

Ahead of its very first key handover, Gamuda Land ensured that these places are ready so when people move in and live at Gamuda Gardens, they will experience a real difference they will get a feel for the place and want to be a part of it.

Meanwhile, Chu also shared that Gamuda Gardens’ upcoming phase – Illaria hillside homes – will incorporate multi-functional design into its home space after taking into consideration changes in people’s home preference.

The Malaysia Green Building Index-rated town is also a short distance away from a variety of other recreational facilities in the vicinity such as the Kundang Lakes Country Club, Kelab Rahman Putra, Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club, and 3Q Equestrian as well as Tasik Biru Kundang.
