KUALA LUMPUR: SAMA Square by SkyWorld Development Bhd (SkyWorld) was pre-opened to the public on 11 May, receiving up to 10,000 visitors over the weekend. Located in SkySanctuary, Setapak, SAMA Square has 90% of its spaces leased over 40 lots.
The development spans 4.15 acres with a net lettable area of approximately 58,000 sqft. Retail brands include Inside Scoop, Zus Coffee, Subway, Guardian, Shabuyaki by Nippon Sushi, Hainan Village Kopitiam, Butter Kaya Kopitiam, Vivace Dance Academy, AllCare Dental Centre, BS Optometry and more.
"The inception of SAMA Square was guided by two key concepts. Firstly, we aimed to redefine commercial spaces in Setapak, creating an everyday lifestyle hub that enhances convenience for residents of SkySanctuary and nearby areas. This transformation introduces a vibrant gathering place that enriches the community’s lifestyle and underscores our commitment to innovative design as well as sustainable living, fuelled by our company’s purpose to make living better,” SkyWorld chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said.
"Secondly, SAMA Square serves as a pilot project marking our venture into the retail business. Occupying a site slated for future development, we transformed this area into an everyday lifestyle hub to tap into a new revenue stream, generating passive income while we strategise the site's long-term use," he added.
From now until May 26, SAMA Square will be hosting the IFood Expo Experience, open from 10am to 10pm.
