KUALA LUMPUR: Menara Merdeka 118 has received its Fire Certificate (FC) from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba), confirming compliance with stringent fire safety regulations. This achievement reflects the comprehensive fire and life safety framework in place, ensuring optimal readiness and safety for this iconic development.

The installation of an Automated Fire Monitoring System (SPKA) enhances real-time monitoring and emergency response coordination, setting a new benchmark for safety in high-rise buildings.

“The Metropolitan Fire Department, together with the Malaysia Supertall Secretariat (MSS), has taken the lead in ensuring fire safety standards are upheld so that this super high-rise development consistently adheres to world-class fire safety requirements. For a development of this scale, compliance must be supported by a continuous commitment to maintaining systems, operational readiness and adherence to safety procedures. The inclusion of systems such as SPKA further enhances preparedness and strengthens coordination during emergencies,” said Bomba director Hassan 'As’ari Omar.

“The Fire Certificate is a significant milestone for Menara Merdeka 118, as it affirms that the building has fulfilled all required fire and life safety standards. The implementation of SPKA further strengthens our fire safety capabilities, providing an additional layer of assurance through enhanced monitoring and more efficient emergency response,” said PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Izwan Hasli Ibrahim.
