PETALING JAYA: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) marked its seventh consecutive recognition at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2026, receiving the Company of the Year (Property Developer) for Education, Empowerment and ESG Leadership award. At the ceremony, Mah Sing Foundation also announced a new RM300,000 partnership with Pemimpin, a Malaysian non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening school leadership and empowering educators, to bring play-based literacy learning to 15 primary schools across the Klang Valley.
The Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards recognises organisations advancing sustainable socio-economic development in Malaysia. The award ceremony was officiated by Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister Lim Hui Ying,
“Receiving this recognition for the seventh consecutive year is deeply meaningful to us because it reflects the collective effort of our employees, Mah Sing Foundation and our partners. Whether by helping children strengthen their academic foundations, supporting communities to become more self-reliant or advancing sustainable practices across our business, we aim to create impacts that last. We remain committed to creating value not only through the homes we build but also through the communities that continue to grow alongside us,” said Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum.
Mah Sing’s head of strategic communications, sustainability and corporate responsibility, Lyanna Tew and Mah Sing Foundation’s assistant manager Loh Yoke Fai accepted the award from Lim. The presentation was witnessed by CSR Malaysia’s co-chairman and managing editor, Lee Seng Chee.
The Play for Literacy Programme builds on Mah Sing Foundation's broader commitment to improving literacy outcomes among children. The programme will benefit 15 primary schools across the Klang Valley, supporting over 750 lower primary students by strengthening their reading and writing skills through play-based learning while equipping teachers with the resources to integrate these approaches into everyday classroom lessons.
In 2025, Mah Sing, through the Mah Sing Foundation, invested more than RM1.36 mil in initiatives across education, health and wellbeing, as well as community development. It also scored 4.0 at the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index.
