PENANG: Mah Sing Group Bhd (Mah Sing) has launched M Amaya, a RM516mil freehold mixed-use development in Batu Maung, Penang and officially opened its sales gallery. The event also marked the completion of the upgraded Batu Maung roundabout, a corporate social responsibility initiative undertaken with Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang.
Among those present at the launch were Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Abdul Hamid, Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum, group chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow, executive director Datuk Steven Ng Poh Seng and chief executive officer of property subsidiaries Yeoh Chee Beng.
Located within the Southbay township near the Penang Second Bridge, M Amaya is Mah Sing's second M Series development in Penang after M Zenni. The 4.8-acre development comprises 833 serviced apartment units in a 37-storey tower with retail lots and has achieved a 92% take-up rate for Phase 1A. Units are priced from RM480,000.
“Just within 10 months of launching our successful M Zenni, we are excited to bring our second successful M Series to Southbay, M Amaya. M Amaya is designed to bring together the best of modern living, community interaction and nature-inspired tranquillity. Its strategic location, coupled with our commitment to sustainable design, makes it a compelling choice for discerning homeowners and investors alike,” said Yeoh.
Mah Sing also announced that Village Grocer will be the anchor tenant of M Amaya's retail podium, occupying close to 19,000 sq ft upon the development's completion.
“Building on the strong track record in Penang since 2007, the group remains deeply committed to playing a long-term role in shaping the state’s growth, particularly in Batu Maung and other strategic corridors. The M Series DNA, focused on delivering well-located, quality homes that are thoughtfully designed, sustainable and lifestyle-driven, continues to guide our developments as we expand our presence in this key market,” said Leong.
Hamid said developments such as M Amaya support Penang's continued growth while the upgraded Batu Maung roundabout enhances the area's image as an important gateway to the state.
“On behalf of the Penang state government, I would like to extend my congratulations to Mah Sing on the successful launch of M Amaya. Projects of this nature play an important role in supporting Penang’s continued growth as a dynamic and competitive state, particularly in areas where industrial expansion, technology investment and residential demand are converging,” said Hamid.
