PETALING JAYA: Cyberview Sdn Bhd (Cyberview), the landowner of Cyberjaya as well as the city’s tech hub developer, has been awarded the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT)’s Gold Rating for Smart Township 2025.

The recognition was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof to Cyberview chief executive officer Kamarul Ariffin Abdul Samad. The ceremony was also attended by KPKT Minister Nga Kor Ming, his deputy Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

“This milestone is a proud moment for all of us at Cyberview and a testament to the collective effort driving Cyberjaya’s growth. Building a smart and sustainable city is never a solo journey, as it depends on strong collaboration with Majlis Perbandaran Sepang (MPSepang), government agencies, innovators and the vibrant Cyberjaya community,” said Kamarul.

The inaugural Smart Township 2025 Certificate of Recognition forms part of the Malaysia Smart City Rating Programme introduced by KPKT. The initiative establishes an official rating framework for both local authorities and private developers, aligning with international smart city standards such as MS ISO 37122:2019.

Among others, Cyberjaya was recognised for its achievements in deploying smart environmental monitoring systems, including AI-powered air quality sensors and Malaysia’s first movable EV charging station, implementation of e-payment systems for tender procurement and cashless parking across seven commercial buildings.

Also implemented are the deployment of micro-mobility sharing services, real-time traffic systems and EV charging stations at 72 locations and the rolling out AI-powered marketing masterclass for SMEs as well as start-ups under the Cyberview Living Lab® Enterprise Programme that have empowered over 100 startups annually.
