With aspirations to promote Melaka as an international tourism and cultural centre, The Sail will propel itself as one of the world’s most iconic buildings with nine linked towers. Sitting on 27.5 acres overlooking the city and the Straits of Melaka, the 61-storey iconic structure and integrated development strives to celebrate Melaka’s colourful history as a crucial ancient Malay port of call for ships plying between Europe and the Far East.

The Sail’s unique features and facilities include a 330m (internal perimetre) Sky Ring connecting the nine towers, rooftop pool, a four thousand square metre convention and exhibition centre, Melaka-Nanjing Square, Illuminating rooftop central park, a 386m (internal perimetre) rooftop swimming pool, as well as the  Moon, a 360-degree 3D dome experiential centre that also acts as a beacon on the straits.

The three distinct connecting phases include the Sales Gallery, which is a unique state-of-the-art multimedia experiential centre inspired by images of the local Malay headgear or tengkolok with ancient Chinese gold ingots.

Melaka-Nanjing Square, the second phase, comprises four-storey commercial lots that integrate local and foreign cultures with Baba Nyonya, Japanese, Continental and Chinese architecture while the LED sculptures in the centre of Melaka-Nanjing Square highlight the twin city relationship and cooperation with Nanjing, China.

The shopping mall/podium and nine towers which form the subsequent phases, are designed to portray a unified building like sailing ships once did at the ancient port of Melaka. These ‘sailing ships’ are closely linked by the Sky Ring and represent a strong bond of unity among the international community in making The Sail a  popular ‘port of call’ yet again for foreign visitors.

“Come aboard The Sail for a voyage of discovery that offers magnificent sea views, ultimate shopping experience, and lavish vacation stays”
