JOHOR BAHRU: Local property developer Faire Development expanded the Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi (PPKI) classroom at SJK(C) Seelong to address overcrowded conditions. This initiative provides a more spacious and inclusive environment for students with special needs.
To address the limited space and the growing number of students, Faire Development allocated resources for enhanced ventilation, natural lighting, stone plastic composite (SPC) flooring, new tables and a flexible layout to cater to diverse educational needs.
"We believe that every child deserves access to a fair and quality learning environment. This expansion project is not only a contribution to education but also an effort to create a safe and inclusive space where special needs children can feel a sense of belonging and grow in a better environment,” said Faire Development managing director Kenneth Lim.
“A company’s growth is inseparable from the support of society and we have a responsibility to give back. Through this special education classroom expansion project, we hope to provide a more inspiring and secure learning environment, allowing children to explore their potential and grow happily in a more spacious setting. This is also an important step in our ongoing CSR efforts,” added Faire Development chief executive officer Richard Woon.
SJK(C) Seelong principal Ling Chee Ngiu shared that the school currently has 12 special needs students, including those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), hyperactivity, slow learning development and dyslexia all cramped in limited spaces.
Chairman of the school board Koh Leong Kuang expressed appreciation and noted that the new classroom will significantly enhance teaching efficiency and learning comfort.
