KUALA LUMPUR: Archidex 2026 will return to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) on July 29 to Aug 1 this year, strengthening its position as Asia’s leading architecture business event and a trusted platform for regional industry convergence.

With 900 exhibitors from 20 nations and regions expected to participate, the expo marks a defining milestone in its evolution from a traditional trade exhibition into a fully integrated confex ecosystem where exhibition, conferences, policy dialogue and industry activation converge to shape the future of the built environment across Asia.

Jointly organised by Malaysia Architect Association (PAM) and CIS, Archidex has grown into a regional platform of confidence, connecting architects, interior designers, developers, engineers, manufacturers and policymakers in one coordinated ecosystem that drives both industry direction and economic outcomes.

CIS president Datuk Vincent Lim said Archidex will expand by 20%, covering about 420,000 sq ft, bringing together close to 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions as well as welcoming approximately 40,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries and regions. The event is expected to generate up to RM1.4 billion in business transactions, underscoring its role as a high-impact commercial and investment platform for the region. Launching the preview of Archidex 2026, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming described Archidex and AREC 2026 as “a global nexus where policymakers and industry leaders meet to exchange the transformative ideas necessary to address global challenges and, more importantly, make them implementable at the local level.”

AREC strengthens the critical bridge between policy direction and industry execution, bringing together government, developers, architects and solution providers to align national urban development priorities with regional investment and implementation pathways.

Beyond the exhibition floor, Archidex strengthens its position as a regional knowledge platform, driven by an integrated conference ecosystem that connects practice, policy and future industry direction.

PAM president Dexter Koh Yew Peng highlighted Archidex’s role within a wider ecosystem that includes the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF) and Datum.

“Within the KLAF, Archidex represents more than a marketplace, it is a meeting point where architecture is discussed, questioned and reimagined. Held concurrently with Archidex is the Datum Conference, the region’s premier gathering of architectural thinkers. Over the years, Datum has evolved into a celebration in its own right. We celebrate the belief that architecture can drive positive change and inspire the next generation to design with purpose and responsibility.”

Completing the ecosystem are the Asia Space Design Summit, focusing on spatial intelligence across key sectors and the Asia Workplace Design Conference, examining how work, organisation and space are being redefined across Asia. An integrated ecosystem of knowledge, design and industry direction, Archidex 2026 will feature three thematic floors with:

• World of Works (WoW) – redefining workplace design for adaptive, human-centred environments.

• A Hospitality Anthology (aha) – a new feature this year, exploring the transformation in hospitality design, experience and functionality.

• Fenestex – focusing on window, door, glass and façade glass technologies essential to building performance.

• Digital @ Archidex – Featuring smarteX (Smart Building and Facility Management Exhibition) – highlighting the acceleration of BIM, AI, smart systems and data-driven construction.

Also included are business talks, forums, buyer programmes and curated business matching and the Archidex Star Awards to recognise product excellence and innovation.

To enhance participation and accessibility, Archidex 2026 will introduce dedicated shuttle services from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall, improving connectivity and enabling greater visitor flow across the event.
