Genting Indahpura has developed into a structured township integrating residential, commercial and industrial growth
Back in 1995, Genting Property set out with a long-term vision to develop a comprehensive township in Kulai, Johor. What began as a planned growth concept has evolved over nearly three decades into Genting Indahpura as it stands today, one of Johor’s most established and expansive master-planned townships.
Spanning 4,573 acres, the township was developed in a steady and structured manner, supported by infrastructure, public services and an expanding economic base. Instead of emerging in isolated phases, it has gradually formed a connected urban framework where residential, commercial and industrial components are integrated within a single ecosystem.

Strong identity, strong offerings
Genting Indahpura reflects carefully layered development over time where each phase contributes to a broader long-term township structure that continues to evolve. At the centre of this structure is a diverse residential landscape. Housing options range from townhouses to terrace houses, semi-detached residences and established landed enclaves such as Ledang Homes, Kensington Residences, Rimbun Residences and Raintree Residences.
The township presents a well-developed residential and commercial landscape. Alongside this, Genting Indahpura continues to deliver homes under the Johor Affordable Housing Scheme (RMMJ) to support a broader range of housing needs and price points, reflecting both scale and long-term development maturity.
There is a strong industrial backbone complementing its residential base as well. Key developments such as i-Park Indahpura, SME City, Vervo City’s industrial component and Indahpura Industrial Park collectively form significant employment opportunities for Kulai. This dual structure allows the township to function not only as a residential address but also as a working district that supports surrounding economic activity.

A dynamic ecosystem for residents
Genting Indahpura is supported by a well-established commercial and lifestyle ecosystem. Key destinations such as AEON Mall Kulaijaya, Johor Premium Outlets (JPO), Indahpura Central and Vervo City form the retail backbone of the township, offering a wide range of shopping, dining and leisure options within close reach.
Beyond retail, the township is supported by a broad range of everyday amenities. Sports facilities, hospitality offerings, clinics and essential services are all part of the township environment.
In addition to everyday amenities, Genting Indahpura is also supported by a strong concentration of district-level public institutions. These include the Kulai District Police Headquarters (IPD Kulai), Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Kulai, Pejabat Tanah dan Galian, the upcoming MPKU headquarters, as well as key agencies such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), National Registration Department (JPN), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Social Welfare Department (JKM). Together, these reinforce Genting Indahpura’s role as an established administrative and service hub within Kulai.
Institutions and connectivity
An array of educational and healthcare facilities plays a vital role in boosting Genting Indahpura’s liveability. The township is served by multiple primary and secondary schools, colleges and learning institutions while clinics and hospitals cater to the wider Kulai population. Looking ahead, the Melbourne Women’s and Children’s Specialist Hospital is expected to further enhance healthcare access in the area, targeted to open in 2028.
Connectivity is another defining strength. Located in Kulai, Genting Indahpura is well linked via major highways including the North-South Expressway, Second Link Expressway and Senai-Desaru Expressway, placing the township within a highly accessible regional network.
Senai International Airport is located approximately 7km away while Kulai ETS station sits around 10km from the township. Major regional nodes including the Johor Bahru City Centre, CIQ checkpoints, Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Port of Pasir Gudang are also within easy reach. This high level of accessibility is adequate to support both residential demand and industrial activity, all while strengthening Genting Indahpura’s position within Johor’s northern growth corridor.

Building the Kulai identity
New phases under the U.Reka series introduce landed homes with built-ups ranging from approximately 1,497 sq ft to 2,987 sq ft. They are sized for larger multi-generational households and incorporate features such as EV chargers and solar installation capability.
Beyond its role as a residential township, Genting Indahpura also contributes to Kulai’s broader transformation. Once largely agricultural in character, the district has gradually evolved into a more complete urban centre with an estimated population of around 300,000, supported by industrial growth, logistics activity and ongoing urbanisation.
In addition, Genting Indahpura is a multi-dimensional hub supporting housing, employment, commerce and civic infrastructure in one integrated setting. Its industrial and commercial zones span over a thousand acres collectively and continue to generate employment opportunities, all while strengthening the district’s long-term economic resilience.
The township has plenty of room for future growth. Of its total 4,573 acres, more than 2,300 acres remain available for development, supporting continued expansion across residential, commercial and industrial segments.
The hallmarks of an award-winning development
After three decades of development, Genting Indahpura stands as an established township where residential neighbourhoods, commercial centres and industrial zones already function within a unified structure. The strength of this long-term development approach has also been recognised at the industry level. Genting Indahpura was recently honoured at the StarProperty Real Estate Developer Awards 2026, receiving The Neighbourhood Award (above 2,000 acres) - Excellence, which is the highest accolade for this category. The recognition reflects its sustained performance as a large-scale township and its continued relevance within Johor’s development landscape.
Its strength lies not only in its scale but in its ability to stay on the map through structured planning, strong connectivity and sustainable development. As Johor continues to expand, Genting Indahpura has the legacy advantage of bearing maturity and momentum, forming a township that continues to evolve with time.
