Icon City is a grandeur integrated commercial cum residential development, or an urban city by Mah Sing. This RM3 billion development is set to become the next landmark of Petaling Jaya. It is to be developed in phases in 5 to 7 years to come.     This land of Icon City was bought by the developer in March 2010 for RM104.23 psf (a total of RM89 million) from Panasonic HA Air-Conditioning (M). The land purchase is indeed a good move by the developer to position this architecture marvel at a very strategic spot in between established areas of Damansara, Bandar Sunway, Kelana Jaya, Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya. Icon City can be easily accessible via extensive network of highways as well as public transports. It is strategically sited at the intersection of the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and Federal Highway. In addition, it is within minutes to the accesses of New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Shah Alam Highway (KESAS), ELITE and New Pantai Expressway (NPE). It is also within walking distance to Seri Setia and Setia Jaya KTM Komuter stations, as well as within 5 minutes driving to Kelana Jaya RapidKL LRT station. However, the neighborhood where Icon City is located is not up to its standard. It is surrounded by villages, low-cost apartments and factories. Besides that, the views are not very outstanding – surrounding low-cost residential, Federal Highway and the old PJ view. The best view offered is Bandar Sunway neighborhood and Royal Subang Golf Course in Kelana Jaya. KLCC and the city centre skyline views are blocked by Park 51 development.
