    The residents of Sungei Way was not at all pleased with the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) for closing the pedestrian path with railings for 600m which is set up along Jalan SS9A/14 and this has caused much inconvenience to residents especially housewives who are frequent visitors to the wet market. Some residents commented that the council should provide more openings because this will discourage residents from walking on the pavements to avoid taking a longer route to their destinations. They were also not happy as the MBPJ’s engineering department did not consult the residents over this matter.There was also an issue with bees that is no stranger to the residents and traders of Jalan Sungei Way. Traders and residents commented that this happens every year and they come from behind shop lots and settle at various places such as road signs. However, the residents said that as long as people do not disturb them, the bees would not sting. Although they do not disturb people, residents and traders still hope that the authorities would do something about it.There are great potential for properties in Sungei Way to appreciate further following several modern developments within a stone's throw away from the vicinity. These developments include Park 51 mixed development that comprises Park 51 Boulevard, Park 51 Commerce Square and Park 51 Residency, and also the massive Icon City development.
