Section 10 is, for the most part a residential area. The only non-residential part is one row of shophouses and several institutions, including several places of worship, government offices, and a public park, Taman Jaya. Section 10 is located on the far east of Petaling Jaya, so its location is not as central as the heart; therefore prices are much more reasonable. An issue that is common in most locations which are centrally located is traffic. Traffic congestion is an issue here as there are is a school located in the middle of Section 10, worsening traffic conditions during the morning and afternoon, where school session starts and ends. Traffic conditions on Sundays are exacerbated by the churchgoers for the simple reason that there are simply many churches in the area. On days with no occasion though, traffic is still heavily congested during the peak hours, where the working class get to and come back from work.The area is suitable for own-stay, due to the fact that there are many amenities in the surrounding areas, easily accessible, and is relatively quiet in comparison with the rest of Petaling Jaya.
