Atria (also known as Atria Shopping Centre) is a community shopping centre located in a serene neighborhood of Damansara Jaya.     Possession of the building ownership has changed hands for several times before. This iconic shopping mall has been around since the 1980s, which it was initially occupied by the Kimisawa and Printempts department stores. Afterwards, the Lion Group took over the building, whereupon Kimisawa became Parkson Grand and Printempts became the Atria Shopping Centre. Then, in early 21st centuries, Lien Hoe Corporation took over Atria and the Parkson supermarket was taken over, first by Tops and later by Giant in 2005. Later, Lien Hoe sold the Atria to OSK Property Holdings for RM75,000,000 in March 2007. Upon the ownership of this iconic plaza, OSK Property has proposed to redevelop and revamp the Atria into a 33-storey office tower with a 4-level retail podium and a 3½ level basement car park. Then in January 2009, OSK Property changed its mind to redevelop this iconic mall into a retail and commercial centre. The redevelopment of Atria will comprise of a 22-storey building with a separate blocks of 12-storey buildings. It is scheduled to kick-off in the second half of 2010 with gross development value of RM1 billion. The re-development is expected to be completed by 2012. Up to this date, the developer told that the redevelopment of Atria is still in the planning stage.As larger shopping malls appear, Atria seemed to lose its appeal and attraction. People are more interested to visit other malls such as 1-Utama Shopping Centre, Tropicana City and The Curve to name a few, which most are located mere minutes away from Atria. Nowadays, the Atria seemed to be a neighborhood mall servicing houses and offices surrounding it.
