It has been reported that several residents claim that Taman Ikhlas has been neglected. This is due to illegal open burning being carried out in the vicinity. According to the residents, it was discovered when a stench started emanating from a lane close by.Apparently, a foul odor can be detected in the air whenever in presence of strong winds. Several residents have reported seeing one-tone lorries turning into the lane every night, which leads to a factory manufacturing rat poison. It is suspected that these vehicles are dumping restaurant wastes and toxis materials. On a lighter note, houses located in the Taman Iklhas enclave have potential to provide good rental yield, largely due to the fact that UTAR is within a short driving distance away, attracting large crowds of students.
