Taman Murni is a housing development located in the well established town of Cheras, within Cheras South. Houses her are freehold, and are only within 20 minutes away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. Other places of importance such as Mont Kiara, Bangsar and Petaling Jaya are all within a half an hour drive. The Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a 45 minutes ride away while the government office hub of Putrajaya is 25 minutes away.Houses in Taman Murni consist mainly of double storey terrace houses, with large built ups ranging between 1,775 sf and 3,380 sf. With between 3 to 5 bedrooms to a house and 2 to 4 bathrooms, houses here are fairly suitable for medium to large sized families. Prices of these homes are however on the steep side, between RM498,000 and RM889,000. The prices of the homes in Taman Murni nevertheless reflects what the houses have to offer. As part of an older development, most of the houses are already furnished with air-conditioners and water heaters, while the whole house if fully tiled with in-built kitchen cabinets. Fully extended houses are also fairly common, along with in-built wardrobes in the bedrooms.Being an older development, Taman Murni was not designed to be gated or guarded nor does the community have any fancy facilities. They do however have a field in the middle of the neighbourhood for recreational activities, where there is also a playground for the children where the older ones may cycle around.Taman Murni is well located close to many of the major shopping malls in Cheras such as Leisure Mall which is only 10 minutes away, and Jusco Taman Maluri which is only slightly further at 15 minutes. The major medical institution in the area is the Pantai Medical Centre that is only 12 minutes away.Taman Murni is also located close to several schools in the neighbourhood, with at least 9 different primary and secondary schools within a 7 kilometres radius. Local banks are also aplenty within a driving distance of between 5 to 7 minutes, while restaurants and eateries are aplenty close to home.Taman Murni is well located just off the major Cheras - Kajang Highway, which also provides direct access to the Tun Hussein Onn Highway. Other highways that are easily accessible from the housing area are the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), the SILK Highway and the PLUS Highway. The closest public transport to home is the Bandar Tun Razak Star LRT, which will soon be joined by the upcoming MRT in 2015.

Taman Murni is a well located housing development in Cheras, with easy access to many main roads which are usually smooth during the day. Traffic can however get nasty during peak hours, where the main road that serves the residential area, Jalan Kota Cheras, can get rather congested due to the fact that it is the only main road that is serving the housing development.As the neighbourhood of Taman Murni is mostly tenanted by the middle to upper middle income group, there are a good mix of white and blue collared residents in the area. Although one may hear of many robbery cases in Cheras especially around the Taman Maluri LRT station, residents of Taman Murni have been fortunate enough to not be affected by any crime.Taman Murni was at one point an area of much property speculation when development from the city of Kuala Lumpur spilled over, causing the prices to rise ridiculously. The prices have however since then dropped significantly and seem to be stabilising; although still rather high for the area. As such, those who are looking for a permanent home in Cheras might be able to find a better bargain in the newer housing developments.
