There were disputes over the issue of the gated community plan in Taman Cheras Mas on whether there should still be a gated community despite not having unanimous votes from the residents. There were complains that the housing area was made into a gated community when consensus was not reached. The RA or residents association was trying to convince the residents that gated community would be good for security purposes but the residents were not convinced as the guard’s post was situated far from the homes. Another issue that has been on-going for years now is the traffic congestion in Cheras South which is a daily problem for many who commute to and fro the area during rush hours. The problem is worsened during rainy days as some main roads leading to many residential areas in Cheras South might be flooded.
