Sri Kayangan Apartment is situated in Ukay Perdana which is also listed under the landslide-prone area in Ampang. In May 21st, 2011, a landslide happened in front of the Ukay Police Station at 7pm in Ampang. There were 2 cases of landslides happened in 2 areas just minutes apart in Ukay Perdana which got residents nearby really worried as the rain season is here soon. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the event but 2 vehicles were damaged in the landslide. On May 30th, 2011, there was another landslide at Taman Ukay Perdana. This incident affected the commercial centre in Taman Ukay Perdana. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident as well. There has also been an illegal renovation that have taken place at Block E of Sri Kayangan Apartment last year and the illegal apartment renovation was torn down by Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) enforcement officers within 2 weeks after receiving a complaint. Most ground floor owners carried out renovations in the common areas of the apartment and about 70% of the renovation work was completed when the MPAJ arrived at the apartment. Residents are prohibited to carry out renovations on common areas without approval. Under the “Strata Title Act 1985 (Act 318), owners are prohibited from changing or adding to the shape and structure of any existing building as stated in the sales and purchase agreement.”
