Api-Api Apartment is located at one of Kota Kinabalu's busiest commercial areas and the bustling life around the area has also been one of tourist's favorite spots for accommodation when they are in Kota Kinabalu. Unfortunately, there was a complaint by a tourist when he was staying around that area. He stated that he was assaulted by a group of young men while walking from the Api-Api Centre to the Promenade Hotel along a well lit pathway. He suffered serious concussions and lacerations to his head and he was furious when the Promenade Hotel would not release the security video as the hotel claimed that the video is a private property of the hotel. The tourist was also disappointed and commented that the local police were incapable of protecting foreign tourist’s safety and security and he advise for those who wants to visit that area to walk in groups to avoid issues like these from happening again.Even though Api-Api Apartment is just a stone's throw away from the sea, residents unable to enjoy the fascinating sea view as all the views are obstructed by Marina Court. However, the nits enjoy panoramic view of Kota Kinabalu city centre.
