Sri Kenari is a freehold medium cost condominium located on the Southern part of Penang in Sungai Ara. It neighbours Vistaria which is set on the same street. The developer of this condominium is unknown, and this condominium was completed in 2000; placing this development at approximately 13 years old.Sri Kenari is a well maintained condominium that looks bright and spruce, standing at 9 storeys tall within a single block. Units are sized at 820 sf each with a standardised number of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms each. Prices start from RM320,000 for each condo and rental starts from RM600 for a semi furnished unit. The unitshere were all fully tenanted, therefore all units that are being released for sale now are partially or fully furnished. The most basic of the units are already equipped with kitchen cabinets, hoods and hobs while other units might also be equipped with air conditioners, fans and lightings. For a relatively old condominium, it comes well equipped with a range of facilities. For exclusive use of the residents is a swimming pool and gymnasium as well as a landscaped garden and playground for the children. Safety is provided by the 24-hour security and each unit has their own parking bay.Compared to other residential areas in Penang, Sri Kenari is placed relatively "far" from the city, however in reality it is a mere 10 km to Georgetown or 20 minutes in clear traffic; a pittance for city dwellers of Kuala Lumpur. However residents need not worry as there are mini marts and eateries outside their homes, and the closest school is SMK Sungai Ara and SK Mutiara Perdana; both of which are less than 1 km from their homes. The residents have 3 wet markets to choose from, the Desa Ria Market, Sungai Ara Market and the Bayan Baru Market. Petrol stations are plentiful in the area as well, and hypermarkets in the area are Giant and Sunshine Square that offers moderate shopping opportunities as well. The main road that connects Sri Kenari to the rest of Penang is the Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim that runs in front of their homes. This road will in turn connect them to Jalan Bayan and Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim which in turn connects to the rest of the island. Public transportation may be boarded at the aforementioned Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim which is an approximate 10 minutes walk from their homes. Busses that pass through here are Rapid Penang 302, 305 and 308.

Analysis
Traffic in Penang in recent years have deteriorated badly enough to rival traffic in Kuala Lumpur during peak hours. This is caused by the sudden prosperity of the island after the change of the ruling party there, that has caused development on the island to spiral up and attract more people to move to Penang. Sri Kenari is not spared from this; residents complain that traffic outside their homes on Jalan Kenari as well as Jalan Bayan move at a crawl during peak hours, essentially locking up residents at home. Sri Kenari may not be on the spot as the most ideal investment due to its age and albeit backdated design; nevertheless with the property boom in Penang, prices of this rather modest condominium is as high as RM420,000 for a mere 820 sf unit. This might be due to the high end condominiums and homes that were recently built in the area; namely Setia Pearl Island and Reflections. The neighbourhood here is pretty decent and while residents may not be in the centre of the most happening place, they certainly will not be running on lack of amenities either. In fact Sri Kenari is set in a rather matured neighbourhood, and while their area might not attract the attention of the upper class like Bukit Gambier or Batu Ferringhi, they certainly get along well. This condominium appears comfortable as a permanent home in spite of its size, although buyers might do well to look at other places as well if they are willing to fork out almost half a million for a place that is rather aged, lacking in design and is out of the way.
