There are local banks within walking distance, while both primary and secondary schools are aplenty in the vicinity. The closest shopping mall is the Farlim Sunshine Shopping Centre and 1st Avenue Mall.The closest medical institution to Taman Seri Hijau is the Penang Adventist Hospital which is 10 minutes away. Residents also look forward to the night markets that opens on Jalan Van Praagh just outside the apartment every Friday night. For other entertainment needs, residents may head to the famous tourist attraction Gurney Drive which is only 10 short minutes away.Taman Seri Hijau is a very well located apartment which sits just off the main trunk road of Jalan Perak which connects to Jalan Jelutong, while the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Highway is just as easily accessible. Public transportation is available just a short walk away on Jalan Perak, which is served by the Rapid Penang bus number 10 while bus number 206 serves Jalan Van Praagh which is just outside the apartment.

Taman Seri Hijau is a very well located apartment, although amidst a high number of other medium low cost apartments and housing developments. As such, residents may expect bad traffic every afternoon, as well as during peak hours on the main road of Jalan Perak where traffic usually peaks to a standstill during after work rush hours.Taman Seri Hijau was originally targeted towards the lower and middle income group range. As such, even though prices of the apartments have increase drastically over time, the original dwellers are most blue collared workers of the working class. Safety here is however quite assured, as there have been no reported case of thefts nor break-ins.Taman Seri HIjau does not make a good investment in spite of its excellent location and the apartment being freehold, as it is rather run down and not well maintained; especially when property speculators have many other choices in the upcoming new developments. It does however make a good an affordable first home, for those who are on a budget and does not mind the bad traffic everyday.
