Malls however, are located very far away as Balik Pulau is deep within Penang. The nearest hospital is Hospital Balik Pulau. Schools nearby include SMK Seri Balik Pulau and Tar Thong Primary School.Mutiara Residence is located in Balik Pulau, which is not very accessible. there is only one road to get to the better-developed areas in Penang which is Jalan Tun Sardon. There is also Jalan Balik Pulau which leads towards the south to the Batu Maung area. However, the are public busses frequenting the area. There are a couple of bus stops within walking distance from the development.

    The prices of properties in Penang Island has been spiralling out of control despite the best efforts by the state government. The location of Balik Pulau itself has little to offer as it is located far away from the better-developed areas such as Georgetown or Bayan Lepas. There are few roads leading into the area, therefore, accessibility is the biggest issue, as persons working in the city would have a long daily commute. Compared to the rest of Penang Island, however, the units here are considered fairly priced given the product, but the location is one downside that one has to live with.
