Traditionally an industrial enclave, Chan Sow Lin is seeing a rise in property transactions and new projects. Developers' interest in the area has heightened, thanks to its upcoming high-profile neighbour, Bandar Malaysia.
Diagonally across the area is the Royal Malaysian Air Force base, which will relocate to Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan to make way for the 486-acre Bandar Malaysia. The master planned development is seen as a game changer in the area owing to its location and public transport network. It will feature not only an MRT Line 2 station but also a high speed rail station.
Located off Jalan Chan Sow Lin, the area stretches from Jalan Satu to Jalan Lima, Jalan Utusan (also known as Jalan Enam) and Jalan Emas. It covers 326.7 acres, and houses among the last few pieces of prime land in Kuala Lumpur.
Based on the KL City Plan 2020, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur plans to revitalise Chan Sow Lin into a neighbourhood of residential, commercial and industrial properties. Property experts believe that Chan Sow Lin would eventually become a commercial hub like Section 13 in Petaling Jaya.
Chan Sow Lin and Section 13 in Petaling Jaya share several similarities including, the industrial background, the tenure and small size of land available.
