Taman Segambut is undoubtedly one of the better located residential areas in Kuala Lumpur, with its proximity to the city centre as well as upscale areas such as Mont Kiara. Residents do however experience extremely bad traffic congestion on a daily basis due to the many much travelled highways and trunk roads in the area. The worst affected roads are usually Jalan Segambut and Jalan Kuching.The neighbourhood of Taman Segambut is one that is mostly tenanted by the Chinese population. The area is considered by many to be slightly backwater with its old fashioned designed homes and narrow streets. The area is not considered to be a very safe one with many residents complaining of snatch thefts within the very housing area itself as well as car thefts.Although located in a very good area, not many people would consider the Taman Segambut area to be a good investment, as the land here is leasehold. It is however a very good area to live in if one does not mind the traffic congestion, as it is very centrally located with extremely good connectivity to many highways and trunk roads.
