Taman Shanghai (also known as Shanghai Garden) is a matured estate just off Old Klang Road. Some of the freehold detached properties even sport frontage to the well known Old Klang Road. Built in the late 1960s, Taman Shanghai is also surrounded by larger neighborhoods like Taman Desa and Petaling Lama. Many grew up in the neighborhood, moving out only for furthering their education or work relocation reasons. A matured housing area is still endearing to many, as it attracts established and stable-income earners. Residents will tell you that they enjoy the peace and quiet of the hilly area. But the old will soon make way for new even as residential bungalows are being converted for commercial use and increased traffic brings with it noise and pollution. Taman Shanghai is an affordable freehold residential locality for middle to upper income earners. The stability of the area with established businesses and amenities are attractive and the accessibility to the city center and surrounding townships a big draw.
