Taman Eastern is a very highly sought after housing development due to its very central location close to the city centre. Residents do however suffer very much from traffic congestion, as Jalan Ipoh is a very much travelled trunk road as it accesses many highways. As such, peak hours are a nightmare and residents may expect to be stuck in traffic congestion for ages on end after working hours.The neighbourhood of Taman Eastern is very much populated by the Chinese, as Jalan Ipoh and the surrounding area has always been a popular Chinese area. The neighbourhood of Jalan Ipoh is however on the seedy side after dark, and over the years there have been much complaints of snatch thefts and house break-ins.Despite the area's opined shadiness, Taman Eastern is nevertheless considered by many to be an excellent investment opportunity due to the highly limited amount of freehold landed property that is centrally located that close to the Kuala Lumpur city centre. Obtaining a unit here will however be quite tough as the longstanding residents of the area part with their homes only very unwillingly.
