Taman Desa Jaya is a neighborhood that is located in Johor Bahru. It is a mixed development that sits on freehold land where there is hardly any development. All properties built on this land have long since been completed and occupied. It consists on a myriad of choice of houses and shops to pick from. There are low cost single storey terrace houses and low cost double storey terrace houses with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that range all the way to a 7 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms bungalow which is selling at RM1,650,000. The lower cost houses have 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms at a general built up of 1,430 sf whilst the higher range houses have larger built ups with 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms at approximately 2,200 sf. Prices are ranged between RM75,000 to RM250,000. Many of the houses in Taman Desa Jaya have been renovated upon as they are landed property, hence some of them have reading room or study rooms whilst others have fully extended kitchens with modern cookers and hobs and the like. Most of the houses have covered parking for 2 cars whilst the double storey houses generally have balconies. The pricier houses here come with facilities unlike the low cost houses. Facilities that can be expected are jogging tracks, salons, mini markets and a gymnasium. Taman Desa Jaya is in close proximity to the resident Jaya Jusco, Giant, The Store and Tesco, as well as primary and secondary schools, and eateries are aplenty within driving distance. Places of worship are all within close range of the houses and Rima College is in the vicinity as well. It is very commuter friendly as they have Johor Bharu Taxi Terminal and Johor Bharu Sentral Bus Terminal serving them. The Danga City Mall KTM station serves the neighbourhood as well so residents will never find commuting a hassle.

Taman Desa Jaya seems to be a quaint and peaceful place to live in albeit seemingly a bit back water. Traffic does not seem to be a problem here and there have been no complaints from residents at all. Inasmuch as the housing areas are not gated and guarded, there have not been reports of thefts, giving the impression that this is a rather safe neighborhood to live in. What visitors do comment on when visiting this place is the food. They seem to have a variety of specialties that can only be obtained in Johor where they are as authentic as they come in Taman Desa Jaya. This area does not see much potential in price increment at the moment as it it too far from the city centre of Johor and is lacking in development. However if a family is looking for peace and quiet in a nice place at an affordable price on the outskirts of the city in Johor, Taman Desa Jaya is the answer for them.
